X-Men Pose
WHO: Karin and Juugo
WHEN: February 19th, afternoon
WHERE: First Karin's place, then onto the shopping center
WHAT: Juugo needs some new shirts and pants, since his are no longer wearable and asked Karin to come with
RATING/WARNING: pg-13/none

Dressed in his usual tan colored winter jacket, filled with down and other fluff that made him look larger and more sturdy than he already was, Juugo made his way along the sidewalk to Karin's. He had checked for directions before leaving his house, so as to not get lost, but knew mostly where he was headed. She didn't live far in his opinion, and the walk wasn't difficult. Juugo preferred walking, finding it more enjoyable, but halfway to the young woman's house he called a cab. The man on the other end of the line asked for a time of pickup and Juugo told him in one half hour.

Juugo arrived at Karin's only five or ten minutes after the call. Ringing the bell, he shoved his bare hands into his pockets while shrugging up his shoulders. The white scarf tails flapped in the chilly breeze while the body of the fabric wrapped around his neck and chin, covering his mouth and part of his nose. He was a rather silly sight, with his orange hair sticking up at odd angles, wrapped up in his warm clothes. One might find it funny, if he weren't so ominously tall.

Karin had expected him, and it was for that reason she was waiting in the lobby of the apartment complex instead of her room. It wasn't her favourite place to be; she didn't much like being surrounded by anyone else that lived there. Though, she didn't like people as a whole so that said very little.

She answered the door, giving a snicker at the disheveled hair, and then stepped back once he had a foot inside.

"Come on in, already. It's freezing."

Despite her complaints, what she had on was what she was wearing out. The thickest thing on her was the jacket and scarf, with her shorts only a tad longer than the usual ones she wore. Karin had leggings on underneath those to keep her legs warm. It was hardly enough for the weather, that time of year, but she was stubborn to stay with her fashion of choice.

Juugo stepped in and shook his torso as if trying to shake off the cold. "A cab will be here soon," he said flatly. He never had really approved of Karin's short-shorts in any weather condition, but today he felt even less condoning.

"You know it's cold out," he mused. "But you wear tights anyway?" It baffled him, really. Women, in general, and other men. He was just closed off to the world and didn't really care who knew it. Karin would, most probably, and to his other friends it was probably obvious. Juugo was just terrible with people in general, he knew nothing about anything. It was sad, mostly.

She gave a grateful sigh, glad to hear about the cab. Karin had needed to walk to too many places lately and while the exercise wasn't bad for her it really was just too cold.

"Well, it's better than not wearing them," she said as if he should of known. Though well aware of the fact that Juugo wouldn't know the Do's and Dont's of Karin's fashion, Karin often chose to ignore that and acted like he should anyway. At least she didn't roll her eyes, and actually chose to respond to him, which was better than most people got out of her, but having known him for a few years helped with that.

"You should have Sasuke buy you a pair of jeans," mused Juugo then. He turned away from Karin, showing her his back as his eyes looked out the slim, rectangular window. No cab just yet.

By now Juugo would have thought it would have arrived, but checking the time he realized there was still at least another five minutes before it would arrive early. They usually did, because you weren't on time if you weren't early. You were late if you were on time. He was the master of time, in his opinion anyway. Never late, not once.

Karin considered that for a moment, instead of arguing that her shorts were perfectly fine. Sasuke buying her something meant he'd have to go out shopping with her, and that meant she'd have more time to be around him, and hopefully in the end that could lead to something even better.

Oh, Juugo had a fine mind.

She bit her lip, inventive mind playing out possible outcomes of a shopping trip with Sasuke. "You're right. I should."

That had not been what he'd expected to hear. Turning at his waist he looked back at Karin with suspicious eyes. However, he remained silent while facing the window once again.

"Cab's here," Juugo announced when it pulled up. You're right. . . he wondered what she meant by that. The orange haired male knew full well that Karin had a crush on Sasuke, an obsession he would call it, but he the connection lost him at the moment. He hardly seemed right. The offer was just an off-hand comment, he hadn't meant it seriously.

Pushing open the door, he started out into the cold toward the taxi.

At the suspicious look she released her lip, since Juugo was bound to know what she was thinking and she didn't like to get caught. Karin's cheeks went hot, and she silently cursed how prone she was to blushing. It gave away so much, and Suigetsu always had to point out what she must have been thinking.

The ends of the scarf started moving with the wind as she stepped outside, and she wrapped it around her neck once more so it had less slack. Karin ran around the taxi to get in on the side by the street, cursing to herself over how cold it was as she rubbed her hands together.

Juugo sat in the passenger seat side of the back and looked over at Karin as she got in. He didn't have to say "I told you it was cold," because his dark eyes said it all. They said more than that simple little phrase so many children seemed to chant. He then looked away, ahead of himself blankly.

The driver in the front asked where they were headed, but Juugo wasn't sure. Again he turned his eyes to Karin, this time questioningly.

"Where should we go?"

She put her hands under her legs, to help warm them further. They were always so cold, no matter what the weather was. It being cold simply wasn't helping.

"I don't know. We're shopping for you, aren't we?" There were a lot of stores she could name (Karin had memorized the location of nearly every store in the more fashionable parts of town), as long as their target markets were directed at teenage females like herself. Juugo wouldn't be able to buy anything unless there was some weird crossdressing fetish he had that he wasn't telling her about.

And if that was the case, she wanted to remain uninformed.

Luckily it wasn't the case. Juugo just wasn't sure where to go, it wasn't as if he got out much. But surely there was somewhere near where she shopped that had boy clothing. He yawned behind his scarf while pulling a pair of mittens from his pockets.

"General shopping area," said the tall young man to the driver. The man behind the wheel nodded and started off.

Karin looked out the window, trying to think of different stores that might be good. "You have a budget, Juugo? Or you going to spend freely?"

While she assumed he wasn't looking for a three hundred dollar suit, it was going to take some convincing before she walked into a store that sold things for cheap prices--or had sales like "two for the price of one". Ugh.
24th-Feb-2008 05:36 pm (UTC)
Juugo shook his head. "Doesn't matter. I just need new shirts. Mine are too small or dirty, torn." He made a face behind his scarf. It wasn't that he was picky, he just didn't like thinking of having terribly nasty clothes.

The elder in the back propped his elbow on the ledge by the door where the handle jut out, resting his chin on his hand. His opposing hand held out the mitten to Karin, thinking she might still be cold. The cab was not all that warm.

"Too small? You're still growing?" He always towered over her, so even if he kept growing she only noticed that he was just Tall.

She took it, mumbling a thanks as she pulled them on.

[s-sorry its short. i'm half on hiatus right now.]
